SÉRA

SÉRA, artiste né au Cambodge, présente ses dernières créations picturales et graphiques qui interrogent le corps humain en dialogue avec la statuaire khmère ancienne. L’exposition « Membres fantômes » établit un lien entre passé et présent khmer.
Le projet de l’artiste SÉRA s’inscrit dans le cadre de Season of Cambodia Paris, événement culturel à résonance internationale.
Ce qui est prégnant dans l’ensemble de l’oeuvre de SÉRA, dessins, peinture, sculpture, bandes dessinées, c’est la présence très spéciale d’une rage maitrisée signifiée par le geste. D’un trait vif, saillant, presque cinglant, SÉRA affirme et agite. La main porte le pinceau, l’encre, la terre, le métal… loin devant pour aiguiser nos consciences et notre arbitrage. L’homme qui dessine, l’homme qui sculpte ou l’homme qui peint, nous invite à un voyage plus profond, plus lointain, plus déchiré aussi.
L’exposition de SÉRA prend sens dans un programme culturel global qui met en réseau et en écho les arts et les artistes issus de la culture et des traditions khmères. L’exposition et les événements programmés au 15 curiosity + experiences durant la période du 05 mai au 30 juin 2018 seront directement liés à la programmation des galeries, centres d’études et de mémoires et institutions telles que le Musée Guimet et la Philarmonique de Paris.
Ensemble, ces lieux proposent un parcours culturel khmer à travers le grand Paris, à partir d’avril 2018.

Cette énergie de guerrier trouve inspiration et racines dans la statuaire khmère ancienne.
Une œuvre en hommage à l’insouciance de l’enfance, aux victimes, à la sensualité de moments profondément émouvants. Une œuvre dédiée à la méditation et à la réflexion pour que la mémoire de ceux qui ne sont plus là soit préservée.

SÉRA, an artist born in Cambodia, presents his latest pictorial and graphic creations that interrogate the human body in dialogue with ancient Khmer statuary. The exhibition « Phantom Limbs » establishes a link between past and present Khmer. The project of the artist SÉRA is part of the Season of Cambodia Paris, cultural event with international resonance. What is prominent throughout the work of SÉRA, drawings, painting, sculpture, comics, is the very special presence of mastered rage signified in gesture. With a sharp, salient, almost scathing, stroke SÉRA affirms and agitates. The hand carries the brush, the ink, the earth, the metal … far ahead to sharpen our consciences and our arbitration. The man who draws, the man who sculpts or the man who paints, invites us to a deeper journey, more distant, more torn too.
The SÉRA exhibition makes sense in a global cultural program that networks and echoes arts and artists from Khmer culture and traditions. The exhibition and the events programmed at 15 curiosity + experiences during the period from the 5th of May to the 30th June 2018 will be directly linked to the programming of galleries, study and memory centers and institutions such as the Guimet Museum and the Paris Philharmonic. Together, these places offer a Khmer cultural journey through the great Paris, from April 2018.

This warrior energy finds inspiration and roots in ancient Khmer statuary.
A work in tribute to the carelessness of childhood, the victims, the sensuality of deeply moving moments. A work dedicated to meditation and reflection so that the memory of those who are no longer there is preserved.
